Sisters, OR > Idaho Falls, ID

Well I am back at the Big O Tires I was at a little over a month ago getting my oils changed. I am just over 14,000 miles and about 10,000 in on my entire journey. What a trip it’s been! I have decided to go back into Idaho and Wyoming and outrun the wildfires and the heat until fall really starts to set in.

Oregon has treated me so well! What a beautiful state. Kevin and I met up with some other friends of his and spent a few days climbing in Smith Rock State Park. Some amazing climbing and we got to spend the heat of the day at a waterfall and then climb as the sun was setting in the canyon.

After a few days in the park we left the crew in Sisters and started heading East to Idaho. The day we left we stopped at Swan Falls, ID for camping and found a beautiful canyon that I highly recommend!
Swan Falls River Access – Pit toilets, easy to find and very nice boat ramp.

We stopped at City of Rocks and was completely blown away by this National Reserve land. What a gem in Southern Idaho. The camping is right in the park, and the climbing is never ending! I am becoming a much stronger climber this season and am very grateful that I have got to spend so much time on the rocks this year.
City of Rocks National Preserve – Great camping, pit toilets and very cheap!

We had mostly beautiful weather but our last evening a storm rolled in while Kevin was climbing. He had to rappel down and leave the gear. We were greeted that evening with a gorgeous rainbow and successfully cleaned the gear the next morning.

We spent the last day in Idaho Falls, it must be the place I go for errands. We went back to the Snack River RV Park and Kevin helped me finish up my solar. He replaced my charge controller, added bus bars, set-up the DC to DC and my inverter / charger = MY HERO!! I cannot believe he was able to crush it out in a day, but he certainly did. I can now run my smoothie maker! My solar system is now 100% complete and I am so grateful to have him in my life and to help me make this happen.
Snake River RV Park – Great amenities and only $40.00 a night for full hook-ups if needed. Close to town and a good shower!

We are leaving Idaho Falls today with intentions of going back into the Tetons and then into the Lander area to get some climbing in before he heads back to Wisconsin. The future for me is pretty unknown, but that is the beautiful side of life on the road.
